A Guide for Correct Entries in the ORB Part I – Machinery Space Operations
Recommended for all vessels
 This guide is designed to help ship operators correctly fill out the Oil Record Book Part I (ORB). The fourth edition has been updated to incorporate several regulatory and legislative amendments, including revisions to MARPOL 73/78.

This fourth edition of Part I of the ORB contains:

a) instructions and interpretations on how to properly record all related operations as per MARPOL 73/78, Annex I, Regulation 17;

b)  a list of operations to be recorded;

c) frequently found failures or mistakes;

d) detailed examples for all related operations

IMO 210E IMDG Code Supplements – Jan 2021
Essential for vessels with DG Cargo onboardThe International Maritime Dangerous Goods Code relates to the safe carriage of dangerous goods by sea but does not include all details of procedures for packing of dangerous goods or actions to take in the event of an emergency or accident involving personnel who handle goods at sea. These aspects are covered by the publications that are associated with the IMDG Code, included in this Supplement.

The Supplement also includes texts of the Medical First Aid Guide, descriptions of the reporting procedures for incidents involving dangerous goods, harmful substances and/or marine pollutants, the IMO/ILO/UNECE Guidelines for packing of cargo transport units, the International Code for the Safe Carriage of Packaged Irradiated Nuclear Fuel, Plutonium and High-Level Radioactive Wastes on board Ships and other appropriate Assembly resolutions, resolutions and circulars of the Maritime Safety Committee and circulars of the Facilitation Committee and of the Sub-Committee on Dangerous Goods, Solid Cargoes and Containers.

A Guide for Correct Entries in the ORB Part II – Cargo/Ballast Operations
Recommended for all Oil Tankers This guide is designed to provide simple and clear advice for the proper and consistent completion of the Oil Record Book (Part II – Cargo/Ballast Operations) for oil tankers, as stipulated by Regulation 36 and Appendix III of Annex I of MARPOL 73/78.

The Guide consists of the following:

• General requirements and instructions for making entries in the ORB Part II, as set out in Section 3;

• List of items to be recorded in the ORB Part II, as set out in Section 4; and

• Detailed model examples of the ORB Part II entries for commonly used cargo/ballast operations, as set out in Section 5.

• Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) and answers on items that either bring further clarification to examples provided in the Guide, or bring clarification on a few situations where INTERTANKO could provide an opinion but refrains from providing a guidance.

This document is written at a level suitable for organizations involved in training officers for LNG cargo operations. The high-level nature of the content is directed at a reader who is technically qualified and experienced in the subject of training and LNG operations.These suggested standards are useful for all types of LNG carriers, regardless of size. They are relevant to any officer that is involved in the entire LNG cargo cycle operation, including the role of cargo engineer.

It is the responsibility of the owner to decide the appropriate level and type of training required, as part of a formal competence management system. Additional training, not covered by this document, may be required for specific operations or equipment.
