IMO eReaderThis publication also presents additional information that supplements the IMSBC Code, such as the Code of Practice for the Safe Loading and Unloading of Bulk Carriers (BLU Code, including BLU Manual) and Recommendations on the safe use of pesticides in ships applicable to the fumigation of cargo holds. The International Maritime Solid Bulk Cargoes Code and supplement is commended to Administrations, shipowners, shippers and masters and all others concerned with the standards to be applied in the safe stowage and shipment of solid bulk cargoes, excluding grain.Hardcopy coming soon.
IMO – Vega
[Code: IMO SVEGA ]An interim version of IMO-Vega has been released containing the amendments adopted by MSC 105 (April 2022) and by MEPC 78 (June 2022), presented in PDF format with amendments marked, under the applicable instruments. In addition, updates to SOLAS II-1, III, IV, V and Forms (88P and 74), MARPOL I and II, HSC 94, HSC 2000, IBC, IMSBC, IMDG amendments, MLC 2006, SPS 1983, SPS 2008, MODU 79, MODU 89, MODU 2009 were also included. New or amended performance standards and guidelines from MSC 105 and MEPC 78 (resolutions) are presented as well.These can be viewed from Contents > Resolutions > MSC Resolutions or MEPC Resolutions, respectively. The next main release of IMO-Vega is planned for November.

This new edition features two publication volumes presented in a slipcase.

ECDIS Procedures Guide Volume 1 has been significantly updated to reflect all the latest software, hardware, documentation, PSC/audit skill gaps, and best practice procedures in ECDIS navigation. It contains all ECDIS navigation principles, standards, documentation compliance and PSC preparation. All recommendations are designed to accompany a ship’s safety management system (SMS).

Type Specific Information Volume 2 introduces Type Specific ECDIS Quick Reference Guides. These enable navigators to quickly identify the differences between systems, and improve familiarisation. A brand-new checklist to maintain system performance and hardware, including all new 2022 legally required hardware options, has been created and included.

The IMDG Code lays down basic principles: detailed recommendations for individual substances, materials and articles, and a number of recommendations for good operational practice, including advice on terminology, packing, labelling, stowage, segregation and handling, and emergency response action.

Volume 1 (parts 1, 2, 4, 5, 6 and 7 of the Code) contains sections on:

  • general provisions, definitions and training
  • classification
  • packing and tank provisions
  • consignment procedures
  • construction and testing of packagings, IBCs, large packagings, portable tanks, MEGCs and road tank vehicles
  • transport operations

The IMDG Code lays down basic principles: detailed recommendations for individual substances, materials and articles, and a number of recommendations for good operational practice, including advice on terminology, packing, labelling, stowage, segregation and handling, and emergency response action.

Volume 2 contains part 3 (Dangerous Goods List, special provisions and exceptions), appendices A and B (generic and N.O.S. Proper Shipping Names, and glossary of terms) and an index.

LPG Shipping Suggested Competency Standards (2nd Edition)
Essential for all vessels

These standards are useful for all types of LPG carriers, regardless of size, and are relevant for all types of LPG cargo operations. This includes traditional cargo transfer operations at berth, ship-to-ship transfer operations and LPG carriers with LPG fuel systems. It is the responsibility of the owner to decide the level and type of training required, as part of a formal competence management system.

This new document updates and replaces the previous edition LPG Shipping Suggested Competency Standards (2008).
