MPA 002 – Singapore Tide Tables by MPA, Ed 2021 – Oct 2020

The Singapore Tide Tables contains tidal predictions covering stations in Singapore and selected stations along the Malacca Strait and is published annually.

This book contains Tidal Height and Tidal Stream Predictions covering stations in Singapore Port waters and selected stations along the Malacca and Singapore Straits. Mariners, shipping communities, port users and other interested parties will find this book useful.

WITH 595 – Dynamic Positioning: Theory & Practices, 2nd Edition – Oct 2020

This book bridges the knowledge gap between the users of dynamic positioning (DP) and the knowledge encapsulated in sources such as DP system manuals, onboard documentation, IMO publications, class society rules and regulations, IMCA guidelines and research papers. This book has been updated to MSC.1/Circ.1580.

In this second edition, a chapter on DP incident investigation has been added, an important function for SDPOs. The scope of Chapters 17–23 on mission-specific operations has been broadened to enable bespoke project planning. These chapters in Part V should be read in conjunction with chapters in Part I dealing with generic DP operations.

WITH 653 – Operation and Maintenance of Machinery in Motorships – Oct 2020

This publication provides general guidance for the operation and maintenance of machinery in motorships.

Many changes have taken place within the marine industry due to the rapid advances in technology, particularly in engine design and shipboard practice. Medium speed engines have become larger and are installed as main propulsion engines in larger ships, particularly passenger ships.

WITH 261 – LNG Shipping Knowledge 3rd Ed 2020 – Jul 2020

This publication details the underpinning knowledge required for ship’s officers serving on LNG carriers, as set out in SIGTTO’s ‘LNG Shipping Competency Standards’.

Now in its 3rd edition (2020), this publication has been updated to reflect the substantial technical and operational advances on LNG carriers that have occurred since it was first prepared across 2006- 2008.

To put this level of advance in context, in 2006, the world fleet of LNG carriers was over 200 ships. At the beginning of 2020 there were 540 LNG carriers in service, with over 130 LNG carriers on order. In 2018 alone, LNG carriers carried out 5,119 trade voyages.
