GNS expands operations in Piraeus, Greece

Global Navigation Solutions Ltd (GNS), the marine services company, today announces that it is expanding its operations located in Piraeus, Greece to enhance its levels of customer service and support.

Greece has a proud maritime heritage from which GNS has been able to recruit a number of experienced, senior mariners to its team, which enhances the level of service GNS can provide and further underlines GNS’s service proposition of ‘built by mariners for mariners’. The Company expects to add a further 10 service and support personnel to the team during the remainder of 2016 bringing its Greek team to more than 60.

This expansion in Greece enables GNS to provide high quality, 24/7 customer service and to support its customers around the world. This is in response to the switch to digital navigation coupled with the requirement of customers for faster access to navigational products and services. All of this requires companies like GNS to be able to provide customer service expertise around the clock.

To accommodate the enlarged team and the ever-increasing range of GNS services, the Greek business will relocate to larger, contemporary office premises in the heart of Piraeus during the summer of 2016.

The Greek service centre will primary service GNS’s western hemisphere customers in particular providing comprehensive and robust out of hours office-based support. GNS’s Asia Pacific customers will continue to be supported by the company’s operation in Singapore and the GNS team based in China, Japan and the Philippines. All GNS main office locations will continue to hold chart and publication stocks, so as to supply charts and publications to vessels from the most cost-efficient location worldwide.

Paul Stanley, GNS CEO, commented “Our customers have told us that what they value most is 24/7 service from people with understanding of the bridge environment that they can trust to support them with the best navigational products and service.”

“We are delighted to be investing in Greece, one of the great seafaring nations of the world, and to have created such an expert team with excellent shipping and navigation credentials to support our customers with better service and faster response times.”
