The Voyager Living Lab is a collaboration initiative that aims to drive and support the development of open, user-driven innovation. Its primary focus will be on the development of optimized voyage management solutions that will help achieve Just in Time port arrivals and contribute to decarbonization.
The Voyager Living lab provides 2240 square feet of physical space with a unique mix of facilities and equipment where the maritime community can come together to brainstorm, define, develop, prove new concepts, prototype, test and trial new solutions as well host innovation-related meetings, workshops and events.
The maritime decarbonization challenge is a huge undertaking, spanning shipping, ports and inland supply chains. The Voyager Living Lab is necessarily also a virtual community of global stakeholders who will work together for the advancement of maritime innovation
The Voyager Living Lab sits within an important emerging ecosystem of similar R&D and innovation environments in Singapore which includes the PSA/ Jurong Port Living Lab and IHO-Sg Innovation & Technology Lab. A key focus area of our Living Lab is supporting the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore’s Just in Time Planning and Coordination Platform under the digitalOCEANSTMinitiative.
Working with MPA, SSA and the Pier 71 Accelerator Programme in Singapore, the Voyager Living Lab is providing an incubator environment for maritime start-ups including access to grants to accelerate the development of innovative solutions.
The Voyager Living Lab will play an important role in the development of the talent needed to drive maritime innovation by providing internship opportunities, supporting post-graduate programmes and projects, and creating opportunities for collaboration on maritime-related academic and research initiatives.
