Get more from the link between the real and digital world at Maritim 4.0
The trend towards digitization in the maritime industry is steadily growing. The link between the real and digital world can and will contribute significantly to increasing efficiency.
GNS is delighted to support and promote the Shiff&Hafen event Maritim 4.0, an event that was launched in 2016 against this backdrop of opportunity for our industry.
On 12 June 2017, the DVV Media Group, in cooperation with VDMA (German Engineering Federation, Marine Equipment and Systems Working Group), VDR (Association of German Shipowners) and VSM (Verband Schiffbau und Meerestechnik) and decision makers from shipyards, suppliers, shipping companies as well as from research facilities and service providers will meet to discuss the opportunities and challenges for the maritime economy in the increasingly digitally networked world of work.
Under the heading “4.0 in production and shipping”, successful practical examples and future-oriented projects will be presented at this year’s second conference. Participants have the opportunity to learn about current developments and experiences in the introduction of digital technologies and the implementation of new business models. In order to initiate a lively exchange of knowledge and opinions and to promote a technology development that meets their needs, a special focus is placed on dialogue between suppliers, shipyards and shipping companies.
Debate will include answers to questions such as:
• Are digital business models already shaping new business models in the maritime industry?
• Where do companies see the greatest opportunities and challenges?
• What are the main potentials for increasing efficiency in shipbuilding and ship operation?
• What are the expectations of the respective sectors of the industry (shipping companies, suppliers and shipyards)?
